About Bows for Strings

Bows for Strings began in Melbourne in 1998 as a workshop servicing stringed instruments for musicians and music shops.  Now in 2010, it continues with its meticulous repairs and maintenance of instruments of the bowed string family, and sells new and used instruments.  

Bows for Strings sells and rents new and second hand instruments to retail clients.  It has worked with international instrument makers to raise the quality of student level products available in Australia, and takes great pride in the standard of preparation of the instruments it delivers.  

Bows for Strings coordinates with school music departments to supply and maintain class sets and individual instruments.   It discusses students’ needs with music teachers to help clients make the best choices.
